Counting Mine... and other stuff

Oh Yes another weekend has come and gone. I've gotten a lot done this weekend. It's been a nice a weekend! And I'm SOO excited about Josh and I's weekend next week! Only one week away!!

I'm doing my first One Thousand Blessings with Kate's Life...So glad I found her blog. Her candidness cracks me up! =) But before we do that...

Here is some pics of my weekend funness!

I dyed my hair! I used the new foam type dye! WOW!! Coming from Someone who has home dyed her hair many MANY many times this was the easiest!
This is the dye
Finished and styled

Josh approved and it seemed to be liked. Which I was ready to be back brown. The color was Iced mahogany dark brown.

So I was then ready for DATE NIGHT!! Yay! One of our NYR was to try different things. So we headed to Latitude 35, a restraunt/club downtown in the square. No, people we didn't go to the club it was closed and thats not our scene anyway... The restraunt was very modern. I liked it! Our waitress could have been a little more attentive, but the food was great!

I apologize for the qaulity of picture but hubby took it with his Ipod. Anyhow, this a Cajun Po'Boy (fried shrimp,Cajun mayo, Dijon mustard, red onion, lettuce) with Chedder Grit cakes..IT was tasty. I didn't get a pick of mine Boo! But I had an ultimate grilled cheese. It had white chedder, bacon, and granny smith apples on it. It was different but very good! So hooray for trying something different.

We then headed to the Mast general store, which had all of this retro candy! And some old toys from our past... Apparently Josh pitched a fit for this toy.. The Inch Worm. =)

After that it was getting a bit chill so we decided to go back home and watch a movie. Well we went to Wal-mart and got Transformers 3...Which I think is one of the best movies!!

Then of course we found a game on sale which we played today which was a blast! You definitely have to use your imagination

All in all a great date night that ended with  a movie and 2 bags of popcorn... and some yummy candy we got from the general store! =)

OK now I will count my blessings...
1. That I have an amazing church family
2. My pastors are such genuine people
3. My husband who is more to me then I can put into words
4. Abby my 9yr old Lhasa Apso
5. that I'm able to go off for a weekend with my hubby!! YAY!
6. I'm college
7. my niece and nephews
8. my grandma and grandpa
9. our car
10.our jr high kids

Thats all for now! Happy Blogging!!

Five Question Friday

Linking up with Mama M.

1. Do you swim in the winter?
Of course ... when I'm staying at a hotel. The hubby and I go on frequent trips to the Mts. and always make sure the hotel we stay at has a indoor pool =)

2. Do you love or hate winter?
LOVE IT! I do not like hot weather AT ALL... I get  way to shweaty lol

3. Do you put makeup/actual clothes on when you know you're going to be home all day with just family?
I get dressed but in my comfy clothes. No make up and hair is usually in a clip

4. How old were you when you had your first alcoholic beverage?
Um, let see. 18 I think tasted some wine. Nothing major

5. How many ill calls in a 12 month period do you think are acceptable?

I think one at least a month. If you work 12mo out of the year you should have at least accrue a day for each month. Because sometimes you get sick and it kicks your boot-ay! I just think thats fair. And, I'm sorry if your out just one day why do I need a Dr. excuse for ONE day. If i'm just feeling bad, I don't want to call the Dr. get an appointment, then have to get out of the house, pay a copay, then go home. All just so he can tell me I need rest or its a virus. Some companies are real sticklers about this. OK enough said!

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Thoughtful Thurday

Last night was such a blessing. First off  it was mid-week service. Some weeks it is a race to get there, be prepared to teach, then stay late for choir practice. But I enjoy every minute of it. There have been countless times that I have went just in a foul mood and as soon as I let go and worshiped my Jesus all was right again. I'm telling you people there is no other God like him... the peace he gives is beyond words.

Any who, our children's ministry tries to put something together every Valentines day. Usually a fund raiser type thing. This year Pastor Sharon (asst. pastor and children's director) just didn't feel released about our usual, so she messaged everyone. She posed that we as individual classes would come up with our own message of LOVE. God's LOVE. So my wheels started turning. Because J and I are team leaders over Jr.High.

After some time in prayer and thought something came to mind. A drama. From the time I was nine years old I have had a love of drama, skits, dances. I remember my very first drama. It was Ray Boltz "Thank You" ... My best bud (Mel) and I

Mel is on the Left of me =) Click here to check out her blog! Trust me , she will crack you up!

were only 9 at the time and it has stayed with me ever since. We wrote it ourselves. I can still remember almost the whole thing =) I wish we had a video of it.

Back to the point... So I decided after talking with Josh and prayer to do a drama to the song "Your Love Oh Lord" by Third Day

It  is very simple but beautiful. So last night I showed the class, we were short a couple kids but the ones that were there caught on so WELL!! I'm confident that this is going to touch hearts. To be able to be apart of this part of ministry again just over joy's my heart. No one knows the desire that has been burning in my heart  to do this again. But I just felt I needed to wait. So even if this is where it stops and I don't do get to do drama's regular like I once did, thats OK. Because I'm SO thankful for this opportunity.

Just for kicks this is the Ray Boltz song...

What are waiting on?

So happy blogging everyone!

Here and Now

The Lord is just so amazing. I love how he knows my heart better then I do.

When I have no answers he has them all... I've mentioned in another post HERE , where I talk about Pushdownism. (Its a real condition I tell ya!)

So the reason I'm visiting this place is again... I'm guilty of it... again.

Last night was corporate prayer. It was wonderful.

Backup a bit *BBEEEPP, BEEEP!*  =)

This past weekend was filled with an array of different things. One of the major things was my little nephew Eli had to have tubes. Which is a common procedure. But obviously we all couldn't help feeling a little pins and needles. So I got to have my niece spend the night with us because the surgery was so early. Which was just a BLAST!! She is so cute!

Then there is another issue I can't really go into but it is involving two persons I love dearly. I'm worry about both being harmed because of one of the persons lifestyle. AND there is nothing I can do until one them IS in danger or hurt. Which is just beyond frustrating!!  Plus school and we have been VERY VERY short for 2 weeks. When I say SHORT I'm not saying our saving is getting low, I mean no cashola. (this happened for various reasons)  I've tried to not think about it. AND I'm so busy, I haven't sat down and really process and pray about my feelings about everything. Actually, I shamefully admit I hadn't stop to have that one on one time with just me and Jesus.

And this is where Pushdownism comes in play. Because  I'm a master at the shove-it-down not thinking about it thing. So yeah.

So right before church something extremely minor happened and I have a mini crying jag. Poor Josh, he didn't know what was going on. Honestly at the moment, I wondered what was going on with me.

When we walked into the sanctuary, tears sprang to my eyes because instantly felt the presence of God.  I sat down and I realized I hadn't brought my fears, feelings, worries to the Lord. I simply once again tried to handle them myself.

After confessing to God my bad attitude (trust me it was not pretty, picture a pretty princess pitching a royal fit), worry, fear... I felt such a freedom. And I felt I had some direction in a certain situation.

God really showed me some (not so pretty) places in my heart. One of those is in my heart I'm concentrating on what is going to be, what could happen. Not focusing on my blessings I have NOW.

Instead of hoping and wishing my life away I'm choosing to be happy where I am and continue to pursue the Lord. I have desires in my heart that burn fierce, but I can not spend my days focusing on when those things are going to happen when I'm missing what God has given me right now.

So my new commitment. To be joyful and thankful for NOW. I don't want to waste one more second on focusing on something thats not here yet. Thats not in God's plan yet. I want to focus on where God has me right now.
I'm a teacher
I'm a student
I'm a aunt
And my favorite a wife.

I'm excited and looking forward to trying new things with Josh and living our life to the fullest. =) And following where the Lord leads us!

Five Question Friday!

Linking up with Mama M.

1Where do you hide the reeeally good snacks?

I don't have to hide them anymore now I live in my own home without my siblings! =)

2. Do u keep your vehicle clean or am I the only one who has things falling out of their van?

Our car is looks like our closet. Its crazy! We do have things falling out. We are so busy we have to make sure we are prepared for anything! Snow, rain, ect.

3. Have you ever been to Vegas?

No, and I honestly don't think I would want to. It doesn't seem like my scene.

4. Warm room light blankets or cold room warm snuggly blanket?

A FREEZING room with a snugly blanket! Love it! With a nice book =)

5. What is the worst airplane/flying experience you've ever had?

Well that would be nothing because I have not flew and not planning to but someone last night in class told us about how there was a high alert with people with babies. So they made her take her babies clothes off and diaper, empty everything from diaper bag. It was obviously very violating, she was tearing up about it last night.

*Side Note* Went to a new Dr. today!  Loved her! And I lost 60lbs since Oct of 2010!!!!! YAY! On my way to being a mommy!  Just please pray my sugars continue to come down and weight comes off (in a healthy way)
This is a blog hop!

Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, St. Augustine, St. Thomas...

These are the names that are swimming in my head. Here I thought I was heading into a history class and to my surprise, NOPE. Its been philosophy, ALL philosophy. The problem with this particular class is our professor is a graduate of either Yale or Stanford. Yes, she is teaching a group of older adults from East Tennessee. I'm not bashing East TN, or putting them down. But people here tend to think in a box. Small town syndrome. Not really up for new things.  If you had been in my class and seen the gaze of blank stares you would agree.

I was one of these blank stares. For one we were supposed to have read 1st and 2nd chapter. Which all together is about 100 pages 2 columns per page (The Republic, Politics). So yeah, I was completely LOST! I wasn't the only one (thankfully). So now I had double reading this week and 2 papers. (City of God, On Kingship)

I didn't think one class could make me feel so inadequate  I can't tell you how many words I have had to look up from this book AND the teachers direction on our forum we have to participate in. Geez, I need to work on my vocab! =)

Anyhow, please when you offer your request to the Lord  remember this overwhelmed, feeling a little uneducated, philosophy student...

That is all...Need to get back to my last chapter before taking on my two papers (one which is 1000 words... where is that dictionary?)

See ya tomorrow!

5QF- With one of my questions!

I am so EXCITED about this!! Thanks to Katie (who is filling in for Mama M.) for picking my suggestion for one of the questions!!!  So here goes...

1. What's the the last thing you bought for yourself?
Deodorant... (your welcome) Yes this was actually a wonderful thing. Because I'm such an oddball unique person I can't just use ANY deodorant. I have to use only one certain kind, other wise my underarms have a fit... (My pits have a fit... sorry couldn't help myself) So after using baby powder for a couple of days I received my deodorant.

2. What is your favourite meal on a cold winter day?

Probably a tuna sandwich, I know strange right? But tuna sandwiches remind me of when we would get snowed in as kids and mom was working on a tight budget. Tuna goes a long way. =) I still can't make it like her, it could be in my head though lol

3. Have you started looking at swimsuits for this year, and do you buy a new one every year?

Um, no. I will be buying a new since the one I have I've been wearing for 11 years, and one that I have wore many times over the last couple. Its just time. But I love it. I know the exact style that suits me so I go straight for that one. SO there is little to no pain =)

4. If you could be any candy what would you be and why?

twizzler because they are so bendy and tasty. Plus I love the ones you can peel, they are layered.. Like my self heehee...Deep right?

5. What are you most passionate about?

My relationship with Jesus. He is my everything. I love how he loves me depsite myself... =)

My marriage. I LOVE being married. Its such a gift to have the love Josh and I have for each other. Our future family... the kiddos when we have some I want to be secure and loved. And have a passion for Christ as we do.

And my education. Its taking me almost 10 years to get a 4yr degree but I haven't given up. =) I'm on the last stretch now

BONUS QUESTION: What do you love to 'pin' on

DIY crafts! I love them! However the probability of me doing one is unlikely but I have good intentions of each post =)

Thanks for joining me for 5QF!!

Just curious, which question is mine do you think??

This is a blog hop!

Happy Wives Club

Happy Wives Club
For those who still believe Love rocks!  <----- Click here for website

Happy Wives club is a website I found through theblogfrog community. I LOVE it. It's a website devoted to women who still love their husbands, enjoy being wives, and love their marriage. There are post, questions, articles, tip -ALL kinds of great stuff!! Below is an insert from the "About" section... I encourage you to join and lets stick together and support healthy marriages!!
Decades of the media bombarding us with visions of unhappy wives and daunting divorce statistics made me think about the rarity of my marriage and the joy I feel as a wife.  Then it hit me!  I can't be the only one.  There must be others out there who view marriage and spending time with their husband as one of the absolute greatest blessings in their life.
With this thought in mind, I've set out on a mission.  I believe there are millions of wives all over the world just like me and I'm determined to find them and give a voice to this seemingly rare woman conveniently missing from all forms of media and entertainment.
Have 'Happy Wives' somehow resorted to hiding?  Not wanting to seem too enthused about marriage because some of our friends and family members have had or are having challenges in their relationships?  Maybe it's time we stop allowing others to tell us we're a minority.  What if through this expedition we discover we're actually the majority?  Now, wouldn't that be a 'new kind of normal?'
So, here I go.  On a journey to prove joy and marriage still go hand-in-hand, the 'Happy Wife' really does exist and you and I aren't the only ones a part of this club.  And if you haven't yet joined the Club, what are you waiting for?  Join here and together let's change the perception of marriage around the world.

Great Post on HWC!

Happy Thursday!!

1. I used to be the girl that/who__________but I'm not that girl anymore because___________________.

I used to the girl that felt she wasn't as pretty/sexy/worthy because of my weigh and personality, but, I'm not that girl anymore because I finally realized that God made me who I am and what I should be. fat-skinny-short-tall, I excepted me for me. I'm happy with myself. Then marrying Josh just boosted this obviously. He accepted me for who I am , and LOVES every bit of me body, mind, and soul.
