Five Question Friday

1. What giveaway would you like to do on your blog?

I would love to be that popular! :) I would love to try out something and give a review. Then offer a contest or something.

Make-up, an electronic, food, what ever! I'm your girl! :)

2. If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be?

I would definitely would love the be artistic. To be able to paint a landscape, play a song on a piano... I do have singing capabilities. So I do have SOME talent LOL

3. Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes "spring" or are you a holdout for more cool temps?

As soon as there is a spring day GOOD-BYE coat! (Which I usually dont wear a heavy coat at all) I love spring, but I love winter! I HATE summer. Being hot is awful! And it makes me a bear. You don't want to be around me if I'm hot. Not. Pretty. :P

4. What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars?

I would give, give , give.

The people who have always been there for me and have supported me would benefit greatly! I would take my special people on a totally exclusive vacation.

I don't think I would give out cash though. Maybe initially take some of my favorites shopping or something. Otherwise I would invest in their business or help them open one.

I would buy all of them decent homes.

And believe it or not I would finish school. That would be amazing!

I would build a community center for my church.

5. You are at a hotel by yourself...what do you do?

Take a bubble bath, candles, Josh Groban playing... I would scrapbook and have a  Murder She Wrote marathon! :)

Aquarium Fun!!

Saturday we spent the morning at home playing and then we got ready to go to the aqaurium! We took Jaysen and Olivia! They had a blast! Running from fish to fish! Jaysen loved everything! Olivia said "Lala I want to see the big ones!" They both wanted to swim with the sharks :)

He was waving at the fishes!

Olivia and I infront of the Shark tank!

Jaysen trying to climb over Josh to go swimming with the Sharks!

HE loved everything!

Is this not just sweet?

Serenity:Peace:Calm

These three words have been my cry all week. I had my nephew Jaysen with us and it broke my heart to send him home. The uncertainty of his home life scares me. He is so sweet! I love his smile and giggle! At times it was a struggle to keep up and rearrange our life to include a (almost) 3 year old toddler. He was FULL of energy!!  At times I did get frustrated, but then he would run and give me a hug. I would forget I just told to stop getting in the fridge for the hundredth time :) Last night was very upsetting. As we said good-bye to him and he poked out his little lip... and then when I got home and seen his bed that was empty in my room... Crying again ugh!

Lets talk about his visit!

Friday my dad watched him and that afternoon I took him to the park! He had a blast! Running after the older kids trying to communicate. Since his speech is very delayed the other kids were just looking at him, and you know what? It didn't seem to faze him at ALL! Of course the Aunt in me was like "YOU better be nice to him!! " :)

He was saying go go!

He loved the bridge

And the slide

and the swing

I LOVE that face!

Tomorrow I will post some pictures of our trip to the Smokey Mountain Ripley's Aquarium!

Until then I'm going to remember to trust in the Lord, and not on my feelings and emotions.

Happy Blogging!

My Beautiful niece

My beautiful niece enjoying the sun Sunday!

Media a stumbling block in your marriage?

I'm linking up with Jessica at Stilettos and a fishing pole

Media. Media has a negative effect on not just marriages but every relationship. I can't tell you how many times I've seen families all together and all on their phones or Ipods or what ever electronic they have. I know personally media has effected my marriage. With my husbands permission, I will tell you he is addicted to media.

When we first were dating he would tell how tired he was because he had been on the computer all night. Then we got married and for a while he still did that. Until I had to confront him on the issue. It would hurt my feelings going to bed alone so he could just look up "one more thing". That was his favorite phrase. So, because it bothered me so much we made a deal. He had an hour a day. We went to bed together. The electronics off.

Unfortunately there have been people in our lives think this controlling of me, and that hurts. But only Josh and I know how it was affecting our marriage. We still struggle with this now. Its so much better!! But Josh listens when I'm like ok electronics off, I have to remind him. I am his wife. God said that Adam needed a help mate. That is what I do.

Josh LOVES his Ipod, PS3, Laptop and would stay on them all the time! I still do not understand how he can find so much to do. So since I like to read, which he feels I block him out when I do. I admit when i read I've learned how to block out things around me (siblings will do this to you).

So we have learned that to make sure we spend quality time together we spend an hour doing whatever. Reading. Ipod. PS3. Computer. SO that we make sure the other feels important.

Just like everything else I feel in marriage you have to be AWARE, communicate.

Happy Blogging Everyone!

Date Night - "Hackers"

So as I mentioned in my previous post I had planned this whole date night just for me and J! It was so much fun getting it all together!! I first picked a theme (got my inspiration at Dating Diva's I highly recommend checking them out).
Theme: Hackers (husbands favorite movie)
Items:
1. quotes from the movie printed out and placed around the living room
2. 2 envelopes with rose petals with instructions on what to do next
3. Jar decorated by me with strips of questions (Getting to know you better) from the Dating Diva's
4. Carry bag with candle, PB&J, Apple
5. Movie Poster for door

All week I had been texting him little snippets of the surprise date. Not giving him really anything to go on :)) On Tuesday I sent him a invite in his email. I wrote a reminder on our message board in the kitchen on Wednesday. Friday I sent him a reminder email. By Saturday he was SO excited. Not knowing what scheme I had worked up. OK, so Josh had to work Saturday and his instructions were to call me when he pulled up I would come out. When he got there I came out with our carry bag of stuff, looking extremely sexy by the way. Wore one of my shorter skirts that he loves, hair curled, make up-- the works! So I tell him our first destination- The Park

That park was beautiful! The sun was shining. But that means more people right? So we chose a table that was away. So while Josh changed out of his work clothes in to some shorts. I set up the table. Candle lit. Snacks out. And some love songs from Pandora. and jar places right where he could it. When he got to the table you could tell her pleasantly surprised. Now, if you were a person who seen a couple with candles, holding hands wouldn't you think that was a place where you might not want to go?? Well I thought it would be a good idea to bring our new puppy. BAD IDEA!! So this walks up with her kid, "she wants to pet your dog"... So we tried not being rude but not overly friendly seeing that we were trying to have a date! HA! So after they FINALLY walked off. We finished our snack and started to do our questions, it was going so well... Until another lady walks up with whole family and dog. The dog slobbers all over me shirt (YUK!) and she is says "We need somewhere to sit" ... Then proceeds to stand under the tree RIGHT NEXT to our table. I look at Josh make a sad face "Lets move tables" . So we started gathering our stuff up and she comes over and sits down! WOW!! I was trying to keep in a happy mood, however Josh got very frustrated, "That was just plain rude" (His remark as we were walking away) So we finally find another table. After sitting there a while a couple comes up with their dog stay for a few minutes... And after one more interruption we continued our date :)) By that point we were cracking up!! So sorry Pixel you are no longer welcome to our park dates! After being at the park, which turned out to be very nice, we headed to the car.

Josh got envelope #1 - It was money for our very cheap dinner (pizza and fries which is what they eat in the movie---remember my theme) It said to drop me off go get the food then return.

So he dropped me off. I put the doggies up. Made a padded blanket picnic in the living room. Put the movie poster on the front door. Spread rose petals around us.

Josh gets home and opens envelope #2 - (I'm watching from the window) There is one movie ticket that I printed out. Still did not have the movie name on it thought (heehee) he started to smile, I could see he was enjoying himself.

He sees the poster, at first is confused then it clicked! So he walks in sees all his favorite quotes from the movie. I even taped some to the throw pillows. We sat on the floor had our picnic. Cuddled and watched the entire movie without interruption.

Just to add- the total date cost was $9 :)

Did I mention we turned our phones off? Well we did. What a break that was.

So that was the date!! It was so fun! My turn is in a month again ... I'm already scheming!

Putting this effort in my marriage is WORTH it!! The benefits that our marriage reaps because of surprises, thoughtfulness, and date nights are incredible!

1. Will you run to the store or to pick up a kid looking a mess?

2. Do you finish a book if it's boring or you don't like it?

If it doesn't grab my attention I put the book down. I have other books to read :)

4. What thing/event says "winter will end and spring is right around the corner" to you?

Probably when I get sinus headaches! LOL... Thats not pleasant but lets me know everything is in bloom!

5. Would you prefer couples or family vacation?

I think both are good! You need time as a couple, but family vacations are always a recipe for great memories!

Thoughtful Thursday: Modifiche

Modifiche: (French) Adjust, alteration

"My Life", in reality its not mine at all. When I accepted Jesus at the young age of 3, he captivated me. Through the years of growing, learning, and failing HE had never left me. Over the last few months there have been some modifications. I want to share from my heart. Which is maybe why I haven't wrote that much. With so much going on I tend to run away from the confronting and dealing with "heavy" stuff. Remember the "Pushdownism" chick here (If your thinking what in the world is that read about it here)!! First my grandfather was in the hospital, and the thought of losing him takes the breath right out of me. I'm really close to my maternal grandparents. They are pillars in my life. Not having them would be extremely difficult, I know the day will come, but the longer the Lord tarry's with that the better :) && don't be surprised if you see my blog title change =)

Getting back on track...

I read this great article yesterday, What does it mean to be a Christian?,

It was a great read, and it kind of went along with some of the things I've been experiencing in my spirit. Here is the definition he gives for a Christian:

"What does it mean, then, to be a Christian? Christianity is Christ! A Christian is one in whom Jesus Christ lives by His Spirit, and one who allows the life and character of Jesus Christ to be lived out through his behavior, in order to function as intended to the glory of God" -J. Fowler

Think about that. We can look at this definition and say oh yeah thats me. Really? It is truly? Think about your actions, words, motives? How about your priorities? We are quick to say that we are 'good', but truly we aren't. Our natural flesh is born to have a sinful nature. When Christ died he rescued us from the death of our souls, Sheol. I find it interesting that in the Old Testament they didn't believe in an afterlife. They believe in Sheol.

Sheol: The Hebrew underworld, abode of the dead

It was where the dead were. JESUS saved us from that. He gave us eternal life by dying for us. I look at my life and I wonder if Christ coming through my behavior? Or am I operation on a selfish behavior. Do I truly make time to do HIS work?

Jesus died so that humanity would be able to return to what we were created for, to do everything so that HE may get GLORY. John 10:10 , "The Thief (satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"

How do we make these changes? We get into HIS presence. We sit with God John 15:7-11, We read his word John 1:1, worship him Phillipians 2:9-10, congregate with other believers Hebrews 10:25, we sit and LISTEN. To be truly in his presence is something I'm learning more about.

Let's look at the scripture that says in Ephesians 2:1-6

"1-6It wasn't so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn't know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It's a wonder God didn't lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah." (The Message Bible)

Jesus SAVED us from all that. What breaks my heart is so many of walk right past him everyday and not even realize he is standing there waiting for us to finally say "Not my will Lord, BUT yours be done" , to have a RELATIONSHIP

If I, as Josh's bride ignored him everyday - not concerning myself with him at all our marriage would fail. Its the same with humanity, We are God's bride - how can we be pleasing to God and be a CHRISTian and not have a relationship?

I'm saying all these things to not be preachy, but my intent is just to make us think. And maybe make some changes. I know I am. This is what has been on my heart... & I thank God for his Grace and Mercy to keep teaching me and helping me learn... picking my up even when I fail. I don't have all the answers but I know he does!

I want to know him more. I want to be the woman of God he created me to be!

And just for a good laugh here is a funny  joke from my Grandma!

The son knew that before dinner you must pray over your food.
One day he and his mom went to Grandmas.
Grandma set out dinner and the boy started eating.
The mom stopped him. Scolded him.
Mom- "You know we pray before we eat dinner"
Boy- "Mom, not at Grandma's, her food is good!!"

=) Happy Blogging!!

Hospitals, miscommunications, and Five Question Friday , OH MY!

What a week. I have sat down three or four times to blog to only be interuppted by different things. For one my grandfather went into the hospital with an infection that if not cleared up by the test this afternoon they will be doing surgery. So please say a prayer for him. Then there is school work.. which I lagging behind. I was planning on changing the name of my blog, but I want to write why, and it be thoughtful. So it may have to wait until I'm I can sit and concentrate on it. Then Josh and I had a couple of 'off' days. When we are not exactly communicating effectively. We finally sat down, talked, and prayed. Got some things BACK on track. So now for something I look forward to every week :)

Linking up with Mama M

1. Where is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Probably the mountains. Even though I live close to them. I just find them so peaceful. To see some of God's most beautiful creations. Love it!

2. What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

I'm not sure I have one of those. What really is a guilty pleasure?

Wikipedia, says "A guilty pleasure is something one enjoys and considers pleasurable despite feeling guilt for enjoying it. The "guilt" involved is sometimes simply fear of others discovering one's lowbrow or otherwiseembarrassing tastes. Fashion, video games, music,[1] movies[2], and junk food can be examples of guilty pleasures.[3]"

So I guess mine would be nosy. I love to look up old friends or not friends LOL  and just see what they are up to. I don't want to talk to them. Just curious. Why I do this I have NO idea! Like I do not have plenty to keep me busy! :)

3. What is your favorite fashion trend right now? Or, in the past?

I LOVE LOVE flair jeans or the peasant cut shirts!!

4. What are your spring break plans?

I do not have a spring break any more : ) Boo!

5. What baby names do you hate?

Bob - never have liked it. Has no oomph :)
