Death and stuff...

Death and Stuff is an actual episode of Roseanne. The ones who know me well know that Roseanne was a staple in my home growing up and I still watch it all the time. In this episode Aunt Jackie takes Roseanne and Dan's kids to the greek festival for a school project for Darlene. While they are gone a salesman stope by, Roseanne of course makes her usual jokes but makes it clear she isn't interested. Well the salesman ask for a glass of water. So Roseanne leads him to the kitchen, where he passes away at their kitchen table. In the show there are some funny moments, but it was also very sad because no one knew his name. He didn't have a wallet. He passed away in a strangers home. Now that I write this it does seem even more sad. Death is something that unfortunately in the last four years I have experienced a lot of. I've lost friends and family both. All together I have been to 10+ funerals. That averages out to about 2 or 3 funerals a year. This includes my loved ones and Josh's. Death isn't an easy thing to deal with, however its a part of life. A friend of my best friend passed away over the weekend from cancer, my great aunt passed away Sunday in her sleep... Death is not a respecter of persons. Young, old, middle ages- sick to not sick... if its your time its your time. That is a scary thought for me? I think about all the things I still want to do, I have especially thinking about my loved ones... In a blink of an eye your time can come.  We are not promised tomorrow.

  1. Death scares me to death. There are so many things I want to do. Another thing that scares me (and excites.. but mostly scares) is the rapture. I know its selfish but i dont want to leave anytime soon. I want to die a mean old lady with 50 grandchildren. :)

  2. Don't worry your not the only one that feels that way about the rapture. Then on the other hand I would get to see my loved ones sooner... Death is def not my favorite thing. I don't deal with it well. Just Sunday morning we lost a loved one in our church family. Its sooo tough.
